Indications :
- Severe malaria and complicated malaria infections
- Cases where oral antimalarial therapy is not effective or possible
- Hospitalized patients requiring emergency malaria treatment
Composition :
Each vial contains :
- Artesunate I.P. – 120 mg
- Sterile Water for Injection – q.s.
Uses:
LEOSUN 120 Injection is used for the treatment of severe malaria, particularly :
- Severe falciparum malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum
- Malaria cases resistant to oral antimalarial drugs
- Emergency malaria treatment when oral therapy is not feasible
- Combination therapy with other antimalarial drugs to prevent recurrence
Side Effects :
- Common Side Effects:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Dizziness or headache
- Mild pain at the injection site
Packaging :
- Available in a single-dose vial of 120 mg
Dosage & Usage :
- Administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM)
